Mmmm…donuts.

…you know what I love about donuts?  They’re small, sweet and calorie-free.

What?  Are you kidding me?  You mean those sugar-laden breakfast confections you could easily plow through a dozen before you realize it aren’t health food?  Oh, well darn.

Hrmph, well, dear blog readers, you just witnessed a battle of my inner monologue, and for that I do apologize.  But, don’t despair, for yes, this post does have a point – and a rather good one at that, one that could get you $12,000 plus a super-unique oppotunity that you do not want to miss!

It’s Dunkin Donut’s Create Dunkin’s Next Donut contest, in commemoration of their 60th anniversary.  At this website, you’re able to use the selectors and graphics to choose all the components of your dream donut; from the shape to the filling (or lack thereof!) to the frosting, sprinkles of your heart’s desire.  Once you’ve made “the one,” it’s then time to name it, describe it, then submit it for possible judging.

You have until March 8, which is when submissions close and then finalists are announced and released, then are judged by the public from April-May.  And on June 4th, (AKA National Donut Day) the ultimate donut-maker is crowned! Hooray!!

Prizes are awarded to the finalists ($1,200; donuts for a year; flip HD recorder; trip for two to the bake-off in Braintree, MA’s Dunkin Donuts University) and additionally, the grand prize donut sculptor will receive $12,000 and the chance to have their donut produced as a Limited Edition donut :)

So, what are you waiting for…it’s TIME TO MAKE THE DONUTS! ;)

Visit their site for official details; I am not affiliated in any way to the Dunkin Donuts corporation – just a big fan!
