Ahh…two days before the New Year – the holiday bustle still murmurs, but in the aftermath of one too many sugar cookies and that extra cup o’ eggnog…you’re probably feeling it: thinking about those New Year’s Resolutions…mapping out how 2012 is gonna be different.

Lose a few pounds…learn a new language…be more charitable…

Now, those thoughts are all well and good…but as I learned last night in a twitter chat – making goals is good, but why wait for the calendar to turn?  See, I’m beyond stoked that I made my fundraising minimum earlier than expected and thought that once I saw that 101 percent, I’d rest easy.  Instead, I’ve just got more fired up!!  I mean, really – how could I not be?  The State Challenge is alive and kicking!!

It really couldn’t be more perfect.  I have donations from half of the 50 states right now and it would be so amazing to say, “I ran a Marathon for Team in Training and had the support of the entire UNITED STATES!“

I mean, really.

I am no math whiz, but I did a few calculations here, and this is what I came up with…see, if each state has a $1 donation, that’s $25 more toward cancer research, $2/state, $50 to a family that needs help affording cancer treatments, $10 = $250 to keep funding alive for this important research that has changed the face of blood cancers – did you know that as recent as 1949 a blood cancer diagnosis was almost always fatal??? WE are changing that, dollar by dollar, mile by mile.  With your contribution, you’re joining a team that changes lives.
