I am not exactly sure what happened today, but there’s good news and bad news. Shall we start with the bad?
First, I didn’t PR.
Hmm, okay, that’s it
Everything else was good:
- As seen above, WE MET THE GRIFFIN. Seriously awesome
- Got to hang out with Katie! We had a great convo all day, ride up and down & lunch.
- Met up with other fun #teamrunDisney pals!
- Met BRIANA! She is a badass. Check out her mission and her webpage here.
- Although Williamsburg Cupcake was closed (TEAR) we did stop at Krispy Kreme before the race so that was a win. Had a HOT NOW donut <3
- Got to ‘sleep in’ – sure, I think I also found out that I am not a fan of afternoon races in general, but still: sleep
Didn’t get official results yet, but my Garmin said 13.17 in 2:00 flat. Given the fact that I didn’t realize the course would be mostly muddy and squishy trail, I will take it
Sure, there were hills, but I guess I am just a mud wimp – further proof I am not Tough Mudder/dirty girl/ etc material!
So, short story long – THE PRINCESS PR still prevails…but I’ll keep chasing it down!

Did you race this weekend? How did you do?

Great job today even if you didn’t get a PR. It sounds like the positives far outweighed the negative.
Thanks, Tasha! And you’re right…I think as I grow as a runner, it’s important to take the good and the bad…there’s always another race
I don’t think every race has to be a PR but look at those bangin’ quad muscles you have in that pic! And a Krispy Kreme before a race? I think that is awesome!
Hehe, thanks, T!
Hope you had a great weekend, too
Love the photo! You girls look great! Can’t wait to hear more about it at our lunch!!
Thanks, Christine! And congrats on your weekend as well! Cannot wait to see you real soon <3
Sounds like a great day, even without the PR.
Thanks, Steph! Life is too short to worry about negative things!!
Congrats on your race!! Those are tough running conditions, I never run as well on trails. Sounds like a fun race experience!
THanks, laura! I know it sounds silly, but I was all whiny about getting my shoes muddy! Haha…
Aww, sorry you didn’t nail a PR, but sounds like less than idea conditions. I also have zero interested in running through mud. Blech.
Hehe, thanks, heather! I so agree. I am a road running gal – trail running is okay when I know what I signed up for…
Seriously your legs look awesome!! Yeah no pr for me either. But when the good outweighs the not so good, it really doesn’t matter. Many more chances to pr for you I’m sure! Great job!
Thanks, F! Love your positive attitude
I love seeing you with my College mascot! Of course, it wasn’t the mascot until after I was done with college, but let’s not talk about dates, shall we? I’m glad you made the most of the race – sometimes it’s just not what you planned, and you’re clearly able to roll with it when that happens.
