Yesterday was a nice, long 4th of July – woke up before 8 AM, wrote my blog post then got ready and headed off to Richmond!
(I have some fun photos, but I’ll share those soon!)
Here were the highlights of my day:
- Having my first (and second!) Ukrops cupcake.
- Trying on TOMS shoes – though I didn’t end up buying (yet)
- Tasting my first Kombucha (I went with Trilogy)
- Epic tunes on Sirius radio!
Seriously, I don’t think I would have made it through the day/night without the Pulse radio station. And I think whenever I hear the next two (!!) songs, I will always remember my 2011 Fourth of July:
I am a longtime fan of Matt Nathanson – see, he opened for Howie Day back when I was in college and I loved his act so much more than the main attraction! He also returned to play again in Pullman, so of course, I went ! I am glad to see him enjoying success and earning legions of fans – he deserves it!
I didn’t like this song at first, but as I sang it (out loud, of course) it calmed me in bouts of merging on to the Interstate and other general stressful driving situations. Yay for a happy place in calamity!
How do you cope in stressful situations?
