Bravin’ the Storm

This weekend was a pretty laid-back one (AHHH) – didn’t run at all (WHO AM I?!) – didn’t lose power (Despite widespread outages due to the BIG storms Friday and Saturday evenings, THANK GOODNESS) and lamely, had to go in to work on Saturday because the power was lost there. Eh, so it was low-key and pretty uneventful.

That is, until Sunday.

Dorkin’ out with the cardboard cut-out.

See, I’ve wanted to see Disney * Pixar’s latest since, well, since I first heard about it, but alas, hubs didn’t seem to share my enthusiasm. I had planned to see it in Hawaii with my aunt, but timing just didn’t seem to work out right.

When I arrived back in Cville, I checked the listings and it was only playing at the Carmike theater…which is about 2 minutes from where we live, but also the lamest of the lame theaters in town. Boo! Fortunately, however, it was also playing at the theatre a town over (Waynesboro) where hubs and I went to see Titanic on my birthday – and even more excitingly, hubs offered to take me there to see Brave! YEAHH!

I don’t want to reveal any spoilers to the film, but let me just say this: I thought it would be good, but I was wrong…it’s GREAT! I laughed, I cried and I delighted at the fact that one of my favorite animals is featured prominently throughout the movie 😉

Now, back to the grind…kinda sorta. It’s nice to have Wednesday off this week – though we don’t have plans – yet.

How was your weekend? Did you have crazy weather too?

  1. Glad to see that you didn’t lose power this weekend. I didn’t either. I’m very grateful for that. I’m kind of over all this wacky weather for this entire year.
