How to: Apply to the WDW Moms Panel (Part 2)

Alright, so you’re all logged in to the Walt Disney World site! Nice….now here comes the fun part…filling out the application!

So, tell us a little about yourself…

As part of the WDW Moms Panel application requirements, applicants must have visited the Walt Disney World Resort within the past 12 months, not currently work for the Walt Disney Company or its affiliates, (includes Travel  Agents) be over age 18 and speak fluent English. Of course, being bilingual (or multilingual) is a definite bonus! In recent years, there has been a definite focus on providing more services in Spanish, so noting your language skills in this step can surely make your application look even more attractive.

Once you’ve got that step down, it’s time to check out a bit about your Disney knowledge! In 2012, that meant a brief multiple choice quiz:

Testing your Disney Knowledge…how many answers do you know?

Each “Disney Knowledge” drop down question had several options in which to choose from. These questions content feature park-centric information, Disney history and feature animation facts – a kind of ‘buffet’ of Disney trivia!

After that, it’s time to share a little about YOU and your Disney planning prowess!

Have a specialty area of Disney knowledge and enthusiasm to share?

In 100 words (or less) applicants are asked to describe how they plan Disney vacations for themselves and others – which is the focus of WDW Moms Panel, so this space is precious! Although the space limit might seem low, it is an important opportunity for applicants to concisely convey their passion! (Pro tip: typing directly into the box will automatically update the word count limit, but if you’d like to edit for spelling/grammar errors, you might want to copy + paste into Word Processing software – but edits should be made directly onto application – not a copy + paste back in – to avoid formatting errors).

After that short essay section is complete, applicants can choose their ‘specialty’ – Walt Disney World Resort, the Disney Cruise Line, Aulani / Adventures by Disney, Disney Vacation Club, the Disneyland Resort, runDisney or ESPN Wide World of Sports Competitions(see what I chose here).

Once that selection has been made, applicants are then directed toward specific questions related to their chosen specialty. The format of these questions vary (essay, multiple choice) and further test knowledge and experience levels….and after that…it’s time to cross your fingers, sprinkle some pixie dust and hold tight until the next round!

Since I applied for the runDisney specialty, the next round of questions were centered on that – which I will share in my next post!

If you applied for the WDW Moms Panel this year, which specialty did you pick? If you didn’t…have fun…which would you pick?
