So, picture this, I was just scrolling through Facebook, when I came upon THIS article by Elle Magazine about Colbie Caillat. I’ve been a fan of her for a while – we even danced our first dance at our wedding to “Lucky” by Colbie Caillat – and Jason Mraz – and when I saw the name of the article, “Colbie Caillat is Tired of Being Photoshopped: Here’s What She Did About it,” I figured it would be interesting – but once the video that accompanied it started – well, it was pretty much over for me.
As I was thinking more about it, I stumbled upon this video, posted by my pal, Julliete:
I think not.
In this day and age, it can be really hard to figure out all kinds of things about your life – where you want to go, what you want to do, who you want to be – but there is something that only YOU have control of – and that’s what you THINK about YOU.
As hard as it sounds – we should all take a minute and think about ourselves and just how much we have to be thankful for. It’s easy to fall into a trap, where you feel like you’re not good enough. Like you’re not smart enough. Or pretty enough…just not enough.
It’s easier said than done, but we all have this power within to make our lives better, happier and more positive. It’s up to us.
So, if you’ve made it this far in this post – I have one assignment for you: tell yourself that you ARE enough. Tell yourself one thing about you that is AMAZING. And, if any negative thoughts creep in, THINK: what’s holding you back? What’s dragging you down?
