Believe I Am Training Journal

ETA: I have reached my $2k goal, and so the giveaway winners are: Pam and Christine! Yay! Email me – khiguchi at gmail dot com!!

I cannot seem to recall the first time I heard about the Believe I Am Training Journal, but when the newest edition was released a few months ago – in a gorgeous new red package, to boot – I knew I had to get in on it.

believejournal_v3_front_largeMore than just a simple notebook, the Believe I am Training Journal is a sort of living, personal document that is meant to hold as much or as little information about you and your running journey as you want to share. It contains quotations, stories, prompts, and lots of open space to doodle, dream and record life moments, inspire goal setting and more.

Created by elite professional runners Lauren Fleshman (yes, THAT Lauren Fleshman!) and Roisin McGettigan Dumas, this is a book that you’ll be sure to reach for each day, as I surely have! (Seriously. Mine lives on the nightstand.)

Now, here’s a funny story…when I ordered my copy, I added two to my online shopping basket. I wasn’t really 100 percent sure what I wanted to do with the second copy, but at $18.97, it just seemed like the right thing to do for some reason. Well, as fate would have it, when the package came in the mail, I hurriedly tore open the package, only to find…ONE journal.

I checked the package for a packing slip, but there was none. Quickly, I checked my email confirmation to make sure that I had, in fact, ordered two. Yes…there must have been a mistake, I thought…so I contacted customer service and lo and behold, my inquiry was addressed by Ro (Roisin McGettigan!) herself.

Wow!

She apologized for the mixup, and not only offered multiple options for receiving the second copy (including express ship and the option to buy the journal locally and receive a refund) but when I did receive that second copy, I was blown away to find that she had sent over a signed copy!

Now, for the past few weeks, I’ve been contemplating what I might do with this second copy, when this morning, it dawned on me – what if I could pay it forward to someone out there who inspires ME? What if I could gift this beautiful, inspiring item with someone who might be looking for that ONE THING that motivates them to DREAM BIG and TAKE CHANCES this year?

So, here it is…I will send this SIGNED copy of the Believe I Am Training Journal to the person who shares something with me – a dream, a goal, or a wish – and in my own goal-setting of forging toward $2,620 for 26.2 with DONNA, it will be sent out to a random winner when my fundraising reaches $2,000, or my team’s fundraising reaches $10,000 – whichever comes first.

I invite you to leave a comment below, and if you can, your donation here. Every dollar counts and is truly working toward finishing breast cancer everyday.

Thank you! ❤

  1. I love following your posts on Instagram! Good luck with your goals. This year I’m aiming to be true to myself and strive to follow my dreams no matter the setbacks!

  2. I dream of running all of the disney races. But especially the Dopey Challenge, and all 3 Star Wars races in one year. I just ran my first back to back half marathons, and the second one was aweful, so I have a ways to go. But someday my race will come!

  3. I so enjoy following you, Krissy. I know goals should be timely but I’m not close yet – I want to PR my half and 5K. It’s been a while since I’ve been at those paces but I’ll get there again!

  4. My goal is to run healthy and injury free for 2015! Something I never managed in college was to go the entire year without a roadblock or small sidelining- injury. I just want to run this year remembering why I LOVE to run!

  5. My goal for this year is for two people. It is that my sister and I both get to the starting line of the Boston Marathon healthy and ready to have blast! Good luck with the Donna 26.2, can’t wait to virtually cheer for you!

  6. Your posts here abd on instagram have inspired me during my training for my first half marathon! I learned a lot from you abd your experiences! What a cool story and a happy surprise! The world needs more people who pay it forward!! 😊

  7. My goal is to have a happy, healthy year! Hoping to get things with my knee//leg figured out soon! Best of luck with your fundraising!! Wish I could be there this year! Have a great race!!

  8. What a beautiful journal! I really hope you reach your fundraising goal. I have a goal related to the Donna besides getting to finally meet some of my favorite bloggy friends IRL – to go out and just have fun. I haven’t done that for a race in a long time. There will be plenty of other races where I can chase that always out of reach sub-2 and I’d like to PR my 25k in May, but I’m burnt out and I don’t know if I want to work that hard. So for now? Just have a fun weekend.
