REVIEW: XX2i Optics France1 Dual Pack Sunglasses

Admittedly, I am pretty cheap when it comes to sunglasses because I am (A) clumsy and scared of breaking them and (B) prone to losing/misplacing sunglasses – which means you’ll usually see me running in dollar bin sunglasses, or better yet, freebies (from swag bags, or promotions).

Now, this lackadaisical approach to choosing sunglasses is usually fine for casual use, but when it comes to running/being active, my biggest complaint about protective eyewear boils down to this: I HATE when sunglasses slide down my face or fog up!

So, imagine my luck – this awesome pack, sent to me from XX2i included more than a good looking pair of sunglasses – but two pair – plus interchangable lenses! Wait, let me give you the actual run down of all the goodies I received in the France 1 Dual Pack ($149.99 retail value):

  • Two pairs of sunglasses (white with blue flash lens and demi tortoise with brown lens)
  • Three sets of spare lenses (clear, yellow and orange).
  • Tank protector case
  • Two microfiber soft carrying bags/ cleaning cloths.
  • Noise pieces
  • Sunglass strap

XX2i2Since the arrival of these sunglasses coincided with my decision to take a running hiatus, I have not yet tried them out “on the run,” but I have worn them nearly every morning and afternoon to walk the dogs. Our walks are anywhere from 1-4 miles, and being in Florida, it is still mighty toasty – and I am proud to report that I have not had a single “clouding up” incident with these on.

Additionally, I have been extremely satisfied with the FIT of these sunglasses. The cut and style of these sunglasses are sporty – which often do not work with my face shape (I’ve got cuts in my face before from the bottom edge) but with the lift from the nose pieces and the lightweight construction, I barely feel these on!

I’ve not yet swapped out lenses, but the other thing I love about these shades is that they do not distort my depth perception, something that can happen with my other…er…more economical sunglasses. Plus, the earpiece sections are thin, and don’t irritate my ears!

Overall, I am a fan of these sunglasses and I am excited to use them when I start running again in the new year.
