So yes…as the title suggests, I did not go into this pregnancy with the intention of not updating my blog with topics other than baking a baby, but alas, these past few weeks have really proven to be a bit of a challenge, when it comes to doing anything more than working, eating, and sleeping – so for that, I apologize.
In the past two weeks, it’s been a lot more of the same – fatigue, difficulty finding a comfortable sleeping position, and having less and less space in my tummy, making it hard to eat, but – knock on wood – I am happy to still be active, as far as being able to walk the dogs at least twice a day, and reach my 10,000 step count goal *thank you, fitbit!*
Last week, my sister and I embarked on one last grand adventure to Disney before the baby arrives, and we had SO much fun. She hosted a ‘surprise’ baby shower (I didn’t know any of the details, only that it was happening) and it was such a nice event! Once I have more pictures to share from that evening, I will be glad to post some!
In addition to the shower, we were in Orlando for my sister’s first runDisney half marathon! Earlier this year, we had planned on running together, but as circumstances played out, I decided to defer, and made the choice to be her #1 cheerleader! She wore a super cute honey bee costume, and I used my…ahem…belly assets…as a basis for one of my favorite-ever cheering costumes! As fate would have it, however, that half marathon was not quite meant to be (post to come about this whole story!) and the race was cut down to just under 7 miles, which was just fine with us, since we had more time to have fun at the after party in Epcot!
The trip was a lot of fun, and we had the chance to hang out with lots of friends, enjoy a variety of accommodations (we “resort-hopped” to four different resorts over four nights) and, upon our arrival back in Sarasota, capped off the week of sister-fun with a drive up to Tampa to see NEWSIES! at the Straz Center!
It was hard saying goodbye when I had to drop her off at the airport, but it was good to know she’d be back again (in January) and surreal to think the next time I saw her, our little girl will be HERE! It was a whirlwind week of fun, and “just what the doctor ordered” as far as de-stressing and fun-having was concerned!
Speaking of doctor’s visits, I had my second-to-last bi-weekly check up – starting the first week of December, I’ll be going in every week (!!) and this weekend, hubs and I will be attending our Childbirth Class and Hospital visit – so stay tuned!
And now…survey time!
