23 months.

In the past month, she’s participated in her second runDisney event, watched Frozen probably 23 times, ate 23 pounds of cheese (still, her current weight), and has started to get a little less shy about talking. Her favorite thing to say is “BYE!!!!” when she sees anyone at the grocery store, library, or mall, and now can proudly (and prematurely) proclaim: “TWO!!!” when asked how old she is. This week, she even told passerbys: “I two!”

Additionally, she’s really shown a HUGE interest in vehicles of all sorts: from cars, vans, and trucks, to construction vehicles (probably because of the huge construction site only steps from our house where a new Publix is being built). Garbage trucks remain at the top of her list of favorite everyday vehicles.

I’ve been working on the preparations for her 2nd birthday party, and it’s just crazy to think about a year ago when we celebrated her first year (we celebrated in November, since we were all in Canada for my sister’s wedding). Thankfully, the timing will work out and we’ll have a fairly nice gathering of family and friends next month to celebrate and I cannot wait to see the look on her face when she sees all the decorations, theming, and of course, loved ones come together.

I do have to say, the one thing I am the most thankful for, in the months that tick by, is the vast improvement Abby has shown in the arena of sleep! For the first 16 months of her life, I had lost hope of ever getting a full night’s sleep again – but then, once she got her toddler bed, it went from two wakeups to one, and very quickly, none at all. She sleeps every night from ~7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, and so that means I am getting a lot more sleep, too (well, as much as I can pregnant). In just a few months, I know our worlds will be rocked with the arrival of Abby’s sister, so it’s nice to have these last few months of nighttime sanity while they last!

Next month, she’ll also have her two year check up, so we’ll see the official stats as to how much she’s grown, so we look forward to that. I love that as she grows and discovers, she still remains incredibly loving and affectionate, because gosh knows nothing can turn my day around like a sweet Abby hug. ❤

  1. Congrats on the full nights! I felt like we didn’t have that with our kids until they were about 6!!! She is the most adorable little girl I have ever seen and I can’t wait to see how he will be as a big sister! Cherish this special time you have alone with her now. And keep sharing the pictures! I love seeing that smile!

    • Thank you for the kind words. ❤ We are definitely soaking up these mommy and me times while we can xoxox
