Abby is two. How is that possible?
For the past 24 months, I’ve done my best to document as many milestones, events, and BIG things that have shaped Abby’s super fun and constantly evolving personality. She’s gone from a timid infant to a hammy and bold toddler, and with each month, she’s managed to gain new knowledge, experiences and quirks that make her so uniquely her.
It’s been incredible to see interests start to develop (animals! construction vehicles! Frozen!) and her culinary likes and dislikes emerge (she could eat macaroni and cheese everyday if we let her – and she does NOT like “plain” milk). We’ve visited Walt Disney World so many times that she could probably lead a guided tour of Fantasyland and Epcot’s World Showcase, and can’t get enough hugs from her favorite characters. In fact, we started out this week with a mini trip and had a blast visiting the parks for a special Disney Vacation Club event where Abby stayed up WAYYYYY past her bedtime as we partied in the park til 1 AM!
Tomorrow, her birthday celebrations continue as my mom, sister and brother in law (Abby’s grammy, aunt and uncle!) arrive for a visit, followed by her big birthday party on Sunday. We’ve split up present opening over the course of these three days, as not to completely overwhelm her, as so many gifts have been pouring in over the last few weeks (she’s a very loved girl, that is for sure)!
Of course, life will continue to change over the next few weeks, and months, and even moreso when Abby’s baby sister arrives in February, but I’ve decided that this will be the last “official” monthly update, as we transition from reporting Abby’s age in months, to years (she proudly proclaims “TWO!!!” when asked these days). At this time, I do hope to start these back up for baby 2 when the time comes, and of course, noteworthy updates of Abby related nature will still be included here – but not in an official calendar designation 🙂
I want to thank you, my friends and readers, for keeping in touch and following our learning journey these past two years. Time really does fly when you’re having fun, and though there were challenges and sleepless nights along the way, every moment was (and continues to be) worth it – I would not trade this for anything in the world.
One day, I imagine Abby will read all of these updates, and likely roll her eyes at her sentimental mommy, but it’s all true – there’s nothing like seeing your child grow, learn and discover. My heart grows more every day.
Happy Birthday, Abby <3.
